Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, the French city of Puy-deDomme on August 9, 1976. She is the oldest child among four children. Audrey Tautou's parents, who were a dentist and teacher in a school, supported and encouraged her passion for acting and theatre. She initially hoped of becoming a specialist in monkeys was surpassed by her desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. When she was a teenager, her rise to stardom was rapid and marked with initial recognition and success. The beginning of her career came in 1999, when she started acting professionally. In the years following her studies, Tautou took part in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou studied at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church when she was a child and was raised Catholic. She has since gotten away from the Catholic tradition. As well as her acting profession she also pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Also, she has an intense interest in photography and recently presented an exhibit of her work during the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrity, fame and the media who scrutinized her following her fame-making debut in the film Amelie. Additionally, there are a number of photographs featuring herself. Audrey Tautou's debut part, playing Amelie Poulain's main actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie poulain, earned her fame to the world. Amelie was a box office success and was acclaimed at awards galas across the world. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to be released in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou was later cast in a variety of films, including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
