Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. Her first Broadway roles, she played her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working with famous directors and actors both on stage and screen. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC as an Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that produced Hamilton. Ashford most recently starred Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment based on the crisis in America that picked up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than a century. Ashford appeared for two seasons in CBS successful comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie in You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. She has also been on Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first part in the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for an Tony Award. Ashford is an Denver origins native, and now splits his time in Los Angeles.
